Around the end of 2025, I hoped to try running a weblog, so I started building up leisurely, no. almost lazy, but it was harder work than I expected. Here’s a todo list in my rough plan:
- Brainstorming a domain name and site name
- Selecting and signing up for a web hosting service
- Registering the domain and setting up the blogging platform
- Choosing and configuring a blog theme
- Installing and setting up necessary plugins
- Deciding on a color scheme and customizing the theme
- Creating a “Contact Form” and a “Privacy Policy” page
- Registering with Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Search Console
- Creating an “About” page for explaining about this blog
- Designing a site icon
- Planning the category structure
- Starting to publish posts
I can certainly understand why some people give up before finish. There are too many things to look into. They said, having a weblog? that needs a few clicks, But I can’t believe it, that person might be an expert. AI supported me a lot, we really live in good era.
Just a moment ago, I finished step 9: creating the “About” page to introduce this blog.
I was thinking about the design for the icon next, but the AI informed me that GA4 found there were already visitors coming to the site. Wait a minute—I thought blogs usually went months without any visitors after launch.
So, I hurriedly changed my plans and posted this first article.
I decided that I will run this blog with adjustment, because I think I can’t finish up within a couple days.
I want to add a little more topic to this post, I’d like to introduce the photos in the slideshow on the homepage. Photos are random picked in my hand. I might swap them sometime depending on my mood.
